Sanghamitra Das is a Critical Caste Studies Postdoctoral Fellow in Anthropology and the Committee on Southern Asian Studies at the University of Chicago. She holds a PhD in Biology and Society from Arizona State University, and an M. Phil. in Science Policy from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. Her research interests include indigeneity in South Asia, reproductive governance and reproductive justice, biocapital, and social stratification and environmental justice. Her doctoral dissertation investigated the politics of sickle cell management in India as a subaltern disorder centering on the lived experiences of sickle cell disease among Dalit-Bahujan and Adivasi communities.
