Mohit Srivastava is a PhD student in Anthropology at the University of Chicago. He is interested in exploring the various entanglements of religious practices with climate change events in sacred landscapes of the Upper Himalayan mountains in North India. His research tries to understand how thresholds of climate change are constantly negotiated along vectors of state sovereignty, development capitalism and lived religion in the Himalayan mountains. He holds an MA in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an MPhil in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics, India. Prior to joining UChicago as a graduate student, he held teaching positions at Miranda House, University of Delhi and OP Jindal Global University.
