Alyssa Mendez is a PhD student in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Chicago. She holds an MA in South European Studies from the University of Glasgow and University of Athens and a BA in Anthropology with a concentration in Modern Greek Studies from Columbia University. Her research engages the inscription of politics of crisis (by turns economic, epidemiological, and climatological) in the Greek landscape through infrastructure and land-use policies which reshape the terrain of multi-species worlds and confront, and are confronted by, radically different projects of space- and future-making.
