About the Graduate Programs

The Committee on Education (COE) is pleased to offer graduate training that supports the development of students interested in research and practice in the field of education.

For doctoral students, the Committee on Education Fellowship and IES Pre-Doctoral Training Program in Education Sciences provide an interdisciplinary foundation for scholarly research related to education. For master’s students, the MA Certificate in Education & Society offers a curated set of courses taken as a cohort and support for students writing a master’s thesis related to education. The Education Policy Specialization (offered through the Harris School of Public Policy) supports MA students who want to specialize in education policy but are not writing a thesis.

Taken together, COE’s graduate training programs allow students the opportunity to engage with internationally renowned faculty who contribute their expertise in the areas across myriad fields including: comparative human development, economics, psychology, public policy, social services administration, sociology, and statistics. Through rigorous coursework, research projects, and attendance at our Workshop on Education Lecture Series, students gain valuable experience and develop training that prepares them to pursue a wide variety of academic and non-academic positions.
