Prof. Karin Knorr Cetina, the Otto Borchert Distinguished Service Professor, has been elected a member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Her research focuses on financial markets, knowledge and information, as well as on globalization, theory and culture. She studies the information architecture of financial markets, their "global microstructures," and transformation into algorithmic markets. She also studies globalization from a microsociological perspective, using an ethnographic approach, and she continues to be interested in social transformations, including the emergence of a postsocial society and semi-autonomous social forms. Congratulations to Prof. Knorr Cetina!
