The third issue of the Chicago Foodcultura Clarion will be published in this week's issue of Chicago Reader. The publication is a joint effort between Anthropology Professor Stephan Palmié and multidisciplinary artist Antoni Miralda, together with the editorial team of Peter Engler, Eric May, Paige Resnick, and Richard Zhao. The newspaper art project grew out of a collaborative investigative and pedagogical effort by Miralda and Palmié focusing on ethnographic projects on the diverse culinary worlds in Chicago. Anthropology students, anthropologists, food historian, artsts, chefs, and food writers have all contributed stories in the three issues published since autumn 2020. This project has been generously supported by a Gray Center for Art and Inquiry Mellon grant.
